This ministry is designed for students in grades 6-12. We offer a youth group class on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, where we engage our students in the Word and challenge them with it. In addition to study, our students serve this congregation and community through various events. The student ministry also attends student conferences, Christian concerts and church camp.
Throughout the year our ladies are involved in Bible studies where they grow closer to God and one another. In addition to their Bible studies, they are engaged in various ministry activities such as providing meals to those in need, overseeing our Teacher Appreciation Week ministry, organizing community projects, attending an annual retreat and much much more!
We love Science Hill and are striving to become even more involved in our community. Currently, we serve our community through our own events and supporting local organizations. Each year, SHCC ministers to our community through our Thanksgiving and Christmas ministries. In addition, to these two ministries, we host a Clothes Swap and Coat Giveaway for our community as well. As far as organizations, we assist the AIM Pregnancy Center and the Pulaski Emergency Relief Ministry (P.E.R.M.).
Community involvement is vital to SHCC. We want to become more aware of the needs of our community so we can serve and minister to the families of Science Hill.
This ministry is designed for kids from Preschool thru 5th grade. We offer a variety of activities and events for our children. This is our largest ministry and it continues to grow! Each Sunday morning our children participate in Children’s Church, which is simply church at their level. It’s a time of worship through song and a short devotional, plus a snack! In addition to Children’s Church, we offer Sunday school classes by grade level. On Wednesday evenings, our children spend time together singing Kids Praise songs and then are divided into two classes (class and craft) and they rotate through each session. As for other activities, we offer VBS and church camp each summer. We also host an annual Easter Egg hunt and Trunk of Treats, as well as entire family activities (Bear Wallow Farm).
Senior Saints Ministry
Our plus 55 group is a wonderful group of people! They have several annual activities including taking day trips together. They also host an annual Law Enforcement Luncheon where they honor our local officers with a meal and short program.
Every Sunday we gather together as a body to worship the Father. Each service at SHCC consists of worship thru song, prayer, communion and a message from God’s Word. However, we offer two different styles of worship. The AM service has a blended selection of songs (hymns and praise), led by our song leader and choir. On Sunday evenings, we offer Sunday Night Live. SNL is contemporary worship in a casual, comfortable atmosphere geared toward young families, but open to all. Our praise team leads us in worship using today’s contemporary songs and SNL makes greater use of video, testimonies and drama. Each service at SHCC has the same goal: to experience God through worship.
Young Families Life Group
A life group simply shares life together. Our young families are at a similar stage in life where they either have children in diapers, in trouble, in school or all of the above. As a result, our young families have connected together to share with and rely on one another. Each year this group (minus the children of course) embark on a fall retreat together to relax, recharge and spend more time in the Word. In addition to that, they gather together as a group once a month to share a meal, have a game night, lake day, Super Bowl party, you name it! SHCC is proud of the direction of this group and enjoy seeing them grow in numbers, but we love watching this group grow spiritually and how they lead their children in the way of the Lord.
